Exhibition : Contemporary Japanese Crafts

 

 

 

Embassy of Japan in Denmark, in cooperation with Japan Foundation, held an exhibition : Contemporary Japanese Crafts at Kulturhus Kappelborg in Skagen from 13th May to 13th June. The exhibition was arranged by Japan Foundation, and has been travelling all over the world.

 

In this exhibition 62 masterpieces of Japanese craft works had been exhibited including works by “The holder of Important Intangible Cultural Property” such as Ms.Sayoko Eri, Mr.Yasokichi Tokuda, Mr.Kiichiro Masumura, Ms.Kazumi Murose and Mr.Minori Yoshita. The audience seemed to enjoy the exhibition very much, as it was a rare chance for Danes to see real Japanese crafts.

 

At the opening ceremony, the mayor of Frederikshavn Municipality, Ms.Birgit Hansen together with Japanese Ambassador to Denmark, Mr.Seishi Suei and the director of Kulturhus Kappelborg, Mr.Lars Illum, made opening speeches. Many guests gathered there including local politicians in Frederikshavn municipality and journalists.
