The Government of Japan decided to fund the JPY 351 million (approximately DKK 21.9 million) for the Grand Assistance Project implemented by UNOPS（The United Nations Office for Project Services, Head Quarters is in Copenhagen）in 2019.
The expected outcome of the project is to provide equipment such as X-ray baggage scanners, patrol boats and vehicles for the five EAC countries - Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda in order to strengthen the function of facilitating trade across these countries, appropriating customs clearance and preventing illegal imports and exports.
