Ambassador’s Commendation to Maestro Toshiyuki Kamioka, Honorary Conductor of the Copenhagen Phil

   On November 25, Ambassador UYAMA Hideki hosted the ceremony of awarding the Ambassador’s commendation to Maestro Toshiyuki Kamioka, Honorary Conductor of the Copenhagen Phil at his residence. Maestro Kamioka, who served as Chief Conductor of the Copenhagen Phil for approximately 8 years since 2016, has made significant contribution to deepening mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and Denmark through his music activities.
   When the ceremony was about to start, area blackout suddenly happened, but nevertheless, his friends and former colleagues gathering for the ceremony warmly congratulated him on the awarding with candle lights.
