International Judo Tournament Matsumae Cup in Vejle

On February 15th-16th, the international judo competition Matsumae Cup was held in Vejle, with 700 athletes from 26 countries taking part. At the opening ceremony of the competition, Counsellor Ms. SATO Junko gave a speech congratulating Matsumae Cup and emphasizing the role that judo plays in international cooperation. After the final matches on the first day, Counsellor Ms. Sato also took part in the medal ceremony.
 
From Japan, a delegation of Judo athletes from Tokai University participated in the tournament as in the previous year. The delegation won the championship based on the total number of points earned. Congratulations to everyone at Tokai University.
In Vejle, Danish Open and Matsumae Cup named after Dr. Shigeyoshi Matsumae, the founder of Tokai University, are held every other year.
