Ceremony for Former and New Honorary Consuls-General of Japan

On 17 February, Ambassador UYAMA Hideki hosted a ceremony for former and new Honorary Consuls-General of Japan at the Old Town Hall in Vejle Municipality.
During the ceremony, the Ambassador extended his heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Kjeld Johannesen, who served as Honorary Consul-General of Japan for 15 years from 2008 to 2023, for his great contribution to enhance Japan-Denmark relations. The Ambassador warmly welcomed Mr. Jais Valeur, who has assumed the position of the new Honorary Consul-General, and expressed his confidence in Mr. Valeur’s contribution to further strengthening multifaceted relationship between the two countries.
Their families, friends and colleagues, and Mr. Jens Ejner Christensen, Mayor of Vejle Municipality, as well as representatives from Japanese and business communities in the Region of Southern Denmark and the Central Denmark Region attended the ceremony.
