On Wednesday, 26 November 2025, Ambassador UYAMA Hideki hosted his farewell reception at the Japanese Ambassador’s residence. Approximately 130 guests from the Danish Government, business community, cultural and academic circles, and diplomatic corps attended the reception. They included high-ranking officials such as H.E. Ms. Lotte Machon, State Secretary for Foreign Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In his speech, Ambassador Uyama was delighted that relations and cooperation between Japan and the Kingdom of Denmark have been remarkably strengthened and deepened in a wide range of areas during his three-year tenure, highlighted by Prime Minister Frederiksen's visit to Japan in 2023 and His Majesty the King's accession visit in April this year. He touched upon the current uncertain and dangerous geopolitical situation and emphasized the firm commitment by Japan and Denmark to upholding the international order based on the rule of law. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude for cooperation and support extended by many Danish people and members of the diplomatic corps to him and wished for the further deepening of the friendship between the two countries.
