Appointment of Honorary Consul-General of Japan in Randers

On 1st June 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan appointed Mr. Jais Valeur as Honorary Consul-General of Japan in Randers and on 1st Feburary 2025, his title has been changed to Honorary Consul-General of Japan in Vejle. Mr. Valuer replaced the former Honorary Consul-General, Mr. Kjeld Johannesen, who retired from the post last year after his great contribution to deepening the relationship between Japan and Denmark during his 15-year term.
Mr. Valeur, having worked as CEO of Danish Crown for 9 years and currently working as Chairman of Food Nation, has strong connections with local authorities and business communities in the Central Denmark Region and the Region of Southern Denmark, and has close ties with Japan.
In his capacity as Honorary Consul-General of Japan, Mr. Valeur will foster cordial relations with municipalities of the Regions. The appointment of Mr. Valeur as Honorary Consul-General will contribute to further strengthening the relationship between Japan and the Central Denmark Region and the Region of Southern Denmark.
